Fresh starts are the theme of my life the moment, given that we’re still at the start of a brand new year and I’m going through a rather tumultuous time, and so I thought that it would be appropriate to share the style decisions that I am making in 2016 that will shape the way I dress and shop for the year ahead. My hope is that my decision to take a fresh look at my personal style will inspire you to do the same. New beginnings and self empowerment for everyone!!! Seriously though, it is the start of a new year, and what better time to reassess the way that you have been doing something than reflecting on the sins of the past to forge a fresh outlook for the year ahead?
Making a statement is really easy for men in an office environment. You want to know what the secret is? It’s really simple. Here, I’ll whisper it to you…
BUY A BLAZER THAT IS PATTERNED!!!
A statement blazer is truly the easiest way that you can set yourself apart in the office, and if you keep these three tips in mind, you’ll wind up looking and feeling fresh in some great new threads. You see, I’ve never really been one to tone down my style for work (or my personality for that matter), and so I’m often the only guy in the office wearing a blazer that isn’t the standard issue navy, charcoal or black; let alone something that’s patterned or has a bit of flair. Blue Pool is a spectacular ocean swimming pool formed from a large natural rock pool at the base of a dramatic rocky cliff in the sleepy coastal town of Bermagui, NSW. Only a short 30 minute drive from my parents property, the Blue pool has long been a favourite destination of mine. (more…)
Today was my last day of work for 2015, before heading off on several days of holiday travel. We’re doing the whole family shebang this year – my family, the boyfriend’s family, back to Canberra and then off to Sydney for New Years Eve with my best friend!

Yesterday, I spent the whole day in an old pair of boxer shorts and a racer-back singlet that shows an alarming amount of side-moob. I even walked outside, moved my car, and put things in the recycling bin! This is especially problematic for someone like yours truly, who has always been on the thicker side of husky, and for whom dressing the part is an integral element of my self-esteem and general demeanor. Orange is hands-down one of my favourite colours in the world. I’ve spoken before about my fear of the colour, and how I have only recently come to terms with the idea of experimenting with wearing orange. It has surprised me to realise however, that while I am much more likely to be caught wearing the colour these days, it still only pops up very occasionally in my wardrobe. (more…)
It is always hard deciding what to wear when you’re returning to your workplace after any sort of holiday. Today was my first day back at my day-job after three weeks of travelling around Japan, and aside from the fact that I am still adjusting to the change in temperature, I just had no idea what to wear to work today. I knew that I wanted to look my best because no one wants to return from holidays looking worse than when they left, but what to wear to convey that you had a marvelous time and yes, your colleagues should be jealous of your adventures?
