FASHFEST 2015 – Putting a name to the Faces of Fashfest 2015

Following the colossal Model casting held at the National Convention Center on the first of this month, the Faces of Fashfest were officially announced today at a live photo shoot held at CIT’s photography studios.

Sadly I was unable to attend the launch, but I was excited to learn that Ken Scruton, 21 years old, and Hannah Clare McKenzie, 17 years old, were selected as this year’s Faces of Fashfest. While models from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide attended the casting, both Scruton and McKenzie are Canberra natives selected not because they live here but because they ‘shone on the catwalk’, says Andrea Hutchinson, co-founder of Fashfest and HAUS Models. MaterialByproduct Performace/presentation of Clover by Susan Dimasi

20150209_aOn Tuesday evening last week I joined a handful of Canberra’s dedicated to the pursuit of luxury for a very special presentation of the MaterialByproduct collection ‘Clover’ at the Department of the Exterior boutique in Manuka Plaza.

FASHFEST 2015: Kicking off with its biggest model casting ever!

In under two weeks, over 160 hopeful models will grace a temporary catwalk at the National Convention Centre, hoping to catch the eye of the FASHFEST Judges and designers.

The FASHFEST 2015 casting call is not just looking for the next Kate/Claudia/Naomi/Tyra, however. One of the single most impressive things about FASHFEST is the diverse selection of the fashion world that it offers, and the models that will be walking the catwalk are no different. As FASHFEST co-founder and model director for HAUS Models, Andrea Hutchinson, says:

‘It’s about the perfect fit for the fashion being produced by the designers who have been selected to launch new collections at FASHFEST 2015. No experience is necessary, but the models must walk in front of a panel of experienced judges and be selected based on their overall presence and confidence levels.’ (more…)
