With Spring in full-swing here in Canberra, it is a fantastic time to be thinking about the simple changes we make to our wardrobes to reflect the change of the seasons and all that comes with it. Each day this week I’ll be sharing one of my own wardrobe updates with you, and discussing ways you can work these quick fixes into your own wardrobes! I thought that I’d kick things off with a simple fix to deal with the Spring temperatures. While Spring days are lovely and sunny, there’s still the lingering chill in the air that makes it necessary to rug up as the sun begins to set. I personally don’t like carrying a jumper or a jacket, and so I combat the need to rug-up by choosing a cotton sweater over wool. Cotton is a much cooler and more breathable fabric, so you can wear it during the day without boiling yourself to death; but it will still keep you warm when the sun sets, and stave off most of the evening chills. A cotton sweater is a great Spring update to your wardrobe, and has the added bonus of being much cheaper than wool, though decidedly less durable.
For today’s Spring update outfit I went with this fantastic nautical striped cotton sweater I picked up in Finland last year. I’m wearing:
gold-tone aviators with blue mirrored lenses – ebay
navy and white striped cotton sweater – Divided by H&M, Helsinki
white cotton t-shirt – ESPRIT
black leather belt – repurposed
dark indigo wash raw denim Riley jeans – G-Star Raw
busted-up blue leather boots with buckle detail – G-Star Raw
